April 2017 Beauty Lust List
April is the first full month of Spring! I’m excited to shed myself of the gray feeling of winter and jump into the energy of the new season.
And of course, buy new beauty goodies!
Spring is usually a really fun time in the beauty world. Many brands launch awesome new products and we, as consumers and influencers, get the sneak peak!
I’ve got my eye on a few products this month (who am I kidding – I’m stalking these product pages like a hawk), and they are what make up my April 2017 Beauty Lust List! Click through to check out my picks for this month!
I have an obsession with neutral palettes. Honestly, it’s a problem. Every time I see a scrumptious natural brown, mauve or taupe shade I pounce on it like a lion on its prey. You can imagine, then, the unnatural sound I made when I first discovered this gorgeous palette by Too Faced Cosmetics. With thirty (30!) shade in matte, shimmer, and sparkle finishes, this palette seems like a no-brainer. When it boils down to whether it’s worth it’s $59 price tag, I believe it is! With that many shades, you’d be hard-pressed to run out of possible eyeshadow combos, especially for every day. I’m hoping to snatch this palette up before the month end; it’s limited edition, so you’ll have to hop on this one quick! It’s currently available on Sephora.com and on the Too Faced website.
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Kit – $40 USD
I’ve seen so many makeup artists and influencers play with the highlighters in this palette and I must say, I am SHOOK. If you’re into a highlight that can be seen from the moon, Anastasia’s Glow Kits are what you need. ABH’s latest entry in their highlighter palette collection, Aurora, gives me a strong mermaid/northern lights vibe. I think that aside from fun “going out” looks, the highlighter in the Aurora Glow Kit would be perfect for spring and for the upcoming festival season. It’s said that this palette will be a permanent addition to the ABH Glow Kit family, but it won’t hit the Sephora website until June 13th and in-store until June 23rd. As of this writing (April 9th, 2017), the Glow kit is still available on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website. I definitely will be adding this one to my collection soon!
3. Violet Voss Matte About You Eye Shadow Palette – $45 USD
There are two eyeshadow palettes on the list, aren’t there? I guess you can see what my specific beauty weakness is! This palette piqued a certain interest in me because 1) Violet Voss shadows are to die for and 2) matte shadows are another weakness of mine. This palette, like the Too Faced one above, this palette boasts quite a few shades and the versatility is top notch. This palette seems like a great option for women of color, as more than half of the shades are deep and complimentary to darker skin tones. Most of the shades look to be on the warm side (another one of my weaknesses – warm eyeshadows), so if you’re a warmer toned person, you’re gonna love this one. The Matte About You palette released on April 6th and as of the time of this writing is still available for purchase.
4. Wunderbrow in Black – $22 USD
This product has been inundating my Facebook feed for ages, and I’ve always been intrigued to test its claims. In case you didn’t know, Wunderbrow is an eyebrow gel claiming to be “waterproof, smudge-proof, transfer-proof and [lasting] up to 3 days,” according to the official website. I’ve actually already taken the plunge on this one, and I’m currently waiting for my order to arrive! Honestly, there is nothing more frustrating to me than spending heaps of time on my brows just for them to be accidently rubbed off or otherwise messed up later. I’m hoping that Wonderbrow is as amazing as they say it is! It is currently available on the Wunder2 website. Be on the lookout for a review on it in the near future.
Laura Mercier’s setting powder isn’t a new product, but the darker shade is! I’ve been hearing a lot of hype around the original version, but I was genuinely excited when I heard that the powder was going to be released in a deep shade for people of darker skin tones. Other than the new shade, this setting powder is lauded as one of the best in the industry, and many beauty gurus and makeup artists swear by it. I’m all for a translucent powder that doesn’t cause flashback and comes in a shade just for people of color! This one is available now on the Laura Mercier website and at Sephora.com, as well as in some Sephora stores.
There are some really awesome products that have recently launched and will be launching soon!
I honestly had a hard time limiting myself to 5 products for this month’s Lust List.
