Spring is finally here! The month of March is a transitional period for me, meaning it’s time to switch up some products and try some new things.
Honestly, I had to stop my no-buy from February because my skin was angry. I was sick for the entire first half of March and my t-zone and under my nose was red and inflamed. I had to take care of that little (big, really) problem before it got out of hand.
Once my face cleared up some, I was able to create a couple of looks that I really loved, but I couldn’t get blog-quality pictures of them. Such. A. Bummer. I really need a better camera, because using my iPhone is such a flippin’ hassle. The camera on the 7 plus is phenomenal, but I can never get the angle right when taking a picture! It’s about time for a DSLR.
Anyway, this list of March beauty must-haves is a combo of old/new products that I really enjoyed using!
Benefit’s revamped brow product line-up has impressed me, but no product knocked my socks off more thoroughly than the Gimme Brow Volumizing Brow Gel in No. 5. More than a gel that simply keeps the brow hairs in place, Gimme Brow gives brows a bit of dimension and depth. I use it for my everyday looks with a brow pencil to create a soft, natural shape. Since most of my March was spent wearing simple, everyday looks, I reached for this one a lot.
Honestly, this was an impulse buy; one of those little products they position in the front of Sephora so you’ll be tempted to add a few more things to your basket before you check out. I had no buyer’s remorse, however, because the Tartelette Tease is an adorable little palette that has slowly become a go-to for me. The shadows are highly pigmented, easy to blend, and they compliment my skin tone. Even with just six shades, it’s so easy to create different looks and change it up. It is also the perfect travel palette!
Thank you, Sephora, for introducing this Marc Jacob eyeliner to me through your reward program! It’s one of the blackest black gel eyeliners I own, and it is perfect for the waterline. It blends very well for a smokey look! At $25 a pencil, it isn’t cheap, but it is well worth it for just the black shade alone. I also love that it comes is a multitude of matte and shimmer shades. I’ve used this pencil all month to line both my upper and lower waterline and I’m pretty sure I’ll need to pick another one up soon.
I’ve been using many of e.l.f’s skin care products since they launched, but I have been through at least 6 containers of their Nourishing Night Cream. It has been working wonders for my dry skin, especially during the harsher winter months. Since March was a month of hardship for my skin, I was especially vigilant when it came to moisturizing. My nighttime routine includes three different moisturizers and I use the Nourishing Night Cream as the finisher. Using the cream nightly along with the rest of my routine quickly cleared up my skin issues in time for the beginning of spring.
Many beauty bloggers and vloggers swear by MAC’s paint pots for priming their eyelids before putting on eyeshadow. I decided to buy a paint pot in Quite Natural, an ashy brown shade, to test it out. I must say that I really love it! When doing any of my neutral or darker looks, I use Quite Natural to prime and it keeps the shadow from creasing as well as gives a good base for blending multiple shadows. It’s all I’ve really used as an eyeshadow base this month so it definitely deserved a spot on this list.
