So, what products were my go-to’s during February? This month has been a pretty slow month as far as makeup products go. I’m sure I’m on a self-imposed-but-unintentional no-buy for a while. I’ve got bills to pay and an incredibly hungry child to feed! Anyways, there were quite a few products that I gravitated to this month. A trip to Target earlier in the month yielded some new favorites from e.l.f. that I didn’t expect! Also, some older products caught my eye during February that are now back-in-rotation. Let’s take a look at my February 2017 beauty faves:
SheaMoisture ABS Clarifying Mud Mask – $15.99 USD
This was the facial mask that I review earlier in the month and I am ADDICTED. It has become the staple of my winter skincare routine and an integral part of my Sunday ritual. I spent a good deal of January and February very sick and my skin suffered because of it. Thankfully, using the mask alongside some other restorative treatments breathed new life into my skin. My breakouts cleared, my skin plumped back up and the dryness abated. I highly recommend that you guys try this one!
Palmer’s Eventone Face Oil – $10.95 USD
Starting in January, I tried a new skin care routine to try to rid my face of the pesky dark marks that I had earned during my pregnancy. These marks were invasive; the hormonal shift I was battling completely threw my skin off. I had the worst breakouts of my life while I was pregnant and they left behind horrible scars. Luckily, I happened upon this oil in Target and it’s faded my acne scars considerably. I just put it on before my moisturizer! It’s heavenly.
e.l.f. Sculpt & Glo Duo Stix – $3 USD
I had a bad experience with another contour stick (that shall not be named until my February Misses post) and was feeling a little jaded, but when I saw this in Target for such a low price ($3 USD!?!), I had to have it. I’m so glad I bought it. The last contour stick was the darkest shade this brand had and it was still lighter than my skin tone, whereas e.l.f.’s was not only dark enough, it was the perfect, slightly cool shade. It comes with a highlighter also, so it’s a total steal. For that price, I’ll probably be buying a few more as backups just in case!
Who isn’t in love with this palette? Who? I know I’m super late but this palette is LOVE. The colors are so rich and pigmented, and they blend like a dream. I bought this palette and the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette at the same time and honestly… Auntie Anastasia won y’all. I just think that the ABH palette suits darker skin tones better. Anyway, I’ve probably used this palette at least 1-2 times a week since I bought it, and I’ve even had to slow down and use my other palettes more lol.
Coastal Scents Blush Brush Br-C-528 – $4.95 USD
I bought this brush some time last year on a whim as an add-on to an order of about 15 of their single shadows. I do not regret that decision at all. Despite how cheap it was, it is one of the best brushes I own. It is dense, soft and deposits color on my cheeks perfectly, and it has held up to all the washing and general use that I’ve put it through, I have used this brush for putting on my blush for almost every look since I bought it. I plan on purchasing a back-up of this one soon.
Profusion Cosmetics Studio Highlight Palette – $6.99 USD (Sold Out Currently)
I guess you could say the theme of this month’s favorites are that they’re all low-priced! Honestly, that fit the bill for February because it was a short month both in length and in funds. I found this palette at my local 5 Below store and boyyy did it stun. It was $5 and has 6 generously sized pans. The colors aren’t milled the finest but it applies beautifully. This palette works perfectly for me. I’ve used the bronze shade in the last few looks that I’ve posted here. It really does shine (pun intended xD).
